Last August we went on a school trip to visit the historical cities in Minas Gerais. The first city we went to was Ouro Preto, known for its colonial architecture. The second place was Mariana, known as the largest producer of gold. Tiradentes was one of the cities that produced most of the gold in Brazil, because of that the village has developed becoming a city. Congonhas Do Campo has the most famous sculptures of the artist “Alejadinho".

Where to stay

In Ouro Preto it's very difficult  to find a hotel, so you can stay in Providência hotel, in Mariana, a small city close to Ouro Preto. Providencia is a Simple hotel, but very comfortable and beautiful. It 's located in the historic town of Mariana. Here's the website if you want to take a look,

In Tiradentes we suggest the hotel Pouso das Gerais, which has some characteristics of  the Baroque architecture. The hotel is very comfortable and pretty. Here is the site if you want to learn more about it.  http://www.pousodasgerais.com.br/index.php?secao=pousada&lin=por.
